The term "Local Storage System" represents a network storage appliance (i.e., network storage array).
At times storage system details may need to be “edited” in order to make the storage system easier to identify.
To update the desired storage system details from the Discovery screen and enable it to be available for jobs perform the following steps:
In this example, starting from the Discovery screen (title outlined in blue), the storage system details for "NFS Rack 4" (outlined in green) will be revised to add additional information.
- Click on the Local Link under the STORAGE banner.
This will take the user to the Storage Systems screen (title outlined in blue).
- Click on the Edit icon associated with the NFS Rack 4 Storage System Header to expand the display downward to show the details.
The System Connections - NFS Rack 4 screen (title outlined in blue) will display the Storage System Connections fields (outlined in green) that can be edited.
These fields include:
- Label
- Vendor
- Model
- Version
Below is an example of edited system details:
In this example the following values are being used for informational purposes. Actual values will be based on a companies' policies and physical equipment.
Revise the following fields using the example values:
- Vendor: Everpure
- Model: Flash Array
- Version: 1.1.0
- Click in the Vendor field.
A drop-down listing of common vendor brands will be displayed (outlined in blue).
- Select Everpure.
- Click in the Model field.
A drop-down listing of common models associated with the vendor brand will be displayed (outlined in blue).
- Click on the model: Flash Array
- Click in the Version field.
- Input the Version: 1.1.0
- Click on the Save icon.
The system will provide the pop-up message of "Updating Storage System" (title outlined in blue), "Are you sure you want to save these settings?"(outlined in green) and the details to be updated (outlined in purple).
- Click on the Continue icon.
The system will provide the pop-up message of "Updating Storage System Profile... please wait" while values are being updated.
After applying changes, the screen will refresh and return to the Storage Systems screen.
The system will post the system banner message of "Update succeeded".
The updated information (outlined in blue) will be displayed in the details for the NFS Rack 4 system.
- Click on the Discovery link, located under the DATA SERVICES banner.
The display will transition to the Discovery - Storage Systems page, showing the updated information for "NFS Rack 4" storage system (outlined in green).
